Overflow Quantum Capacity

RemedialHourlyFor Claims Consultants & Consultancies

I work as extra quantum capacity inside your team, under your brand, on the claims you cannot currently staff. Senior quantum resource when the workload spikes, without the hire.

The problem

Claims work does not arrive evenly. Three referrals land in the same month, a final account balloons, a client brings forward a dispute, and suddenly the practice has more measured work than measuring hands. The choices are all bad: turn work away, stretch the team until quality slips, or hire permanently for a peak that will pass. Junior agency resource does not solve it, because claims quantum is not commodity measurement: the figures have to be built by someone who knows what an adjudicator will do to them.

The solution

I plug into your team for the peak: taking whole quantum workstreams or discrete packages, working in your systems and templates where you prefer, delivering under your name to your client. You retain the client relationship and the work is delivered under your name. The arrangement is scoped in writing per engagement, so capacity flexes with your pipeline rather than your payroll. Conflicts are checked before I see a file, and the handling of practice information is covered by the terms we put in writing first.

What you receive

Your practice takes the work the peak brought in, keeps senior review where it belongs, and lets the extra capacity go when the peak passes. Every package closes with a detailed written report: what was built, the records it rests on, and anything the file still needs.

The Handover Pack accompanies the work with its dates and sources, likely outcomes and responses, scope boundaries and ready-to-send correspondence where needed.

Turnaround: the timetable is agreed in writing at scoping and then kept.

The working days start when the agreed scope and required inputs are available. Optional items do not hold the start unless the agreed scope says otherwise.

How it works

  1. You scope the package

The claims or workstreams you need covered, the deadlines and the format the output must land in.

    Brief Confirmed in Writing

The package, method, format and deadline are confirmed in writing before substantive work starts, so the output lands exactly as your team expects.

  2. I clear conflicts first

I check parties and projects against my other engagements before I open a file.

  3. You set the working method

Your systems and templates or mine, whichever gets your output faster.

  4. You send me the paperwork

You send everything in the list below per package, plus whatever access to your systems you want me working inside.

    • A

The brief: the package, and the method to be used

      Essential

Without it: The build starts on a guess at scope and method, and has to be redone once the real brief lands, with no time left before the deadline.

Where to find it: Wherever the instruction was actually given: the engagement email or your own notes from the call. Write it up if it was only said out loud, and send it back for confirmation.

Why I need it: The instructing consultant sets the scope and the method

    • B

      The file

      Essential

Without it: Gaps in the file surface on day six instead of day one, by which point there is no time left to fill them from your own records.

Where to find it: Wherever your team already keeps the package's working documents: document control, the site files, and your commercial folders.

Why I need it: What is available to work from

    • C

The deadline, and the timetable behind it

      Essential

Without it: There is nothing to work back from, so the gap chasing, the build and the delivery cannot be dated against anything real.

Where to find it: Your own diary: the date you need it back by, and the date behind that which you are actually working to.

Why I need it: Overflow work exists because of a deadline

    • D

      The output format and conventions

      Essential

Without it: The worksheet is built to the wrong rounding, references or layout, and has to be rebuilt from nothing rather than adjusted.

Where to find it: Whatever your team issues day to day.

Why I need it: The output has to drop into their document, not stand alone

Copies are fine. Send what you have and I'll tell you what's missing. Download the client request PDF or editable Word version to pass to whoever holds the files.

    Gaps Raised Day One

The file is inventoried against the brief and every gap raised in a single message at the start, so nothing surfaces at the deadline.

  5. You front the client

The relationship, the advice and the badge on the work stay yours throughout.

  6. I stay invisible

White-label as agreed: your brand on the work, information-handling terms in writing, and contact with your client only where you authorise it.

  7. I deliver the quantum work

I produce measures, valuations, build-ups and schedules to your standard and your deadline.

    Checked Before Handover

The package is self-checked against the confirmed brief and every assumption flagged for your review before anything is handed over.

I close every package with the file complete
