Close each measured section the month it is finished
Waiting until completion to measure the whole job means measuring it from memory and archived drawings, months later. Close each section of measured work as it completes, agree it with the other side's surveyor while you can both still see it, and mark it settled. The final account then assembles from a stack of already-agreed sections rather than reopening the entire job as one argument.
