My build is running late. Do you deal with delay?

Running late is the most common way a self build hurts, and there are two separate questions inside it. One is what the delay is costing and how the account should reflect it: extra time-related costs being claimed, price rises being passed on, a builder asking for more because the job ran long. That is my side, and it is handled inside the payment checking and the final account - what the contract actually allows, priced and answered in writing. The other question is whose fault the time is, which is a forensic delay analysis with programmes and expert evidence. I do not offer that on self builds, and most self builds should never need it; if yours genuinely does, the right move is specialist delay help, and I will say so rather than sell you a smaller version of it.
