The builder quotes look different and I can't compare them
The bottom-line figures look decisive, but the scope, exclusions and allowances behind them do not line up.
What's happening?
Builders often receive the same drawings but return quotes in different formats. One may include an item another has left as an allowance, and an exclusion can sit in a covering email, a schedule or nowhere obvious. The totals therefore compare documents, not necessarily the same work.
The useful comparison brings each offer onto one scope: included work, exclusions, provisional sums and unanswered questions shown beside each other. That makes it possible to ask for clarification before a choice turns an omission into a later negotiation.
The solution
Rebuild the returns onto one basis, then decide which questions need written answers.
If you would rather it were done for you, Builder Quote Review & Comparison is the service that does it.
