Risk Mitigation Package

Risk mitigationFor Subcontractors, Main Contractors & Clients

The whole preventative side of my practice, set up on your project as one engagement, before anything has gone wrong.

Claims are decided long before anyone writes them: by what the contract says, by whether the notices go in on time, and by what the records can prove. Once a dispute starts, those three things are already fixed. This package is me getting to them while they can still be shaped.

It bundles the risk mitigation services from every area of this site into one engagement, in the order a project meets them. The same preparation reads from either side: if a claim comes at you, you're in the strongest position to answer it, and if you have to make one, the entitlement and the evidence are already where they should be.

It runs as a defined setup with a finish line, not a retainer, in two versions: Self Setup, where the guide walks your own team through every step, and Assisted Setup, where I do the work with you. Assisted Setup starts with a free conversation, with scope and price agreed in writing before anything begins.

The setup installs at the start of the job; everything after runs on it. Hover or tap any part for what it means.

The two versions

Both versions run on the same documents, all of them free on this site: every template the setup uses, plus the setup guide, downloadable below. It is the whole system in document form, with step-by-step how-tos for each piece: how it's done, who does it, when it happens, and what it should look like when it's working. The difference is who does the work.

Self Setup

You run the setup yourself, following your edition of the guide with your own team. It costs nothing: the guide and the templates are all here, with the steps, the order and who does what laid out piece by piece. It suits a business with someone who has the time and is comfortable with contract paperwork: a commercial lead, an office manager who already runs the invoicing, a director who wants to know the machine because they'll be running it.

Assisted Setup

The same guide, with me doing the work alongside you: I review the contract myself, fit the templates to your job, stand the record system up with the site team and deliver the briefing. You're paying for my hours. It suits a business where nobody has the spare hours, where the contract is unusual, or where you'd rather the reviews were done by someone who does them for a living.

What gets set up

Ten pieces across four areas of the site, in the order a project meets them. Each is the standard service or template from this site, and the package is the lot of them, installed on one job in one pass.

The setup guide

The Subcontractor edition of the setup guide walks your team through every piece above, step by step, written from your side of the contract.

What it leaves behind

A project that runs on its own paperwork: terms you chose with your eyes open, notices that go out on time, records that prove what happened while it was happening. If no claim ever lands, that is the package working. If one does, from either direction, nothing needs reconstructing: the position is already on paper.

When the setup ends

The package finishes with a handover: everything it builds is yours, and your team runs it. Where you'd rather keep me on it, the Records & Monthly Check carries straight on, keeping the evidence discipline honest. And when the job closes, the Final Account Review is the natural last pass before the account goes in.

The package fits one project, and it scales to a business: standard subcontract terms reviewed once for every job that uses them, the same systems set up on each live project, the same briefing for every site team. If that is the shape you need, say so and I will scope it that way.

If something has already gone wrong

This page is the before. If a payment has already been missed, a notice is due tomorrow or a claim has landed, start with the payments area instead: it holds the work a live payment problem needs, and the Emergency Notice Desk exists for the deadlines that cannot wait.
