Price the response window before you serve

Whatever you serve, the other side gets a short window to answer, and so do you when the roles reverse. Before serving, ask who holds the figures if the response attacks them, and whether they have capacity in that window. A valuation nobody is free to defend is at the mercy of whatever discount is proposed, however well it was built.
