What's happening?
It is already happening: letters drafted, clauses summarised, contract text pasted into whatever chatbot answers fastest. Nobody approved it and nobody banned it, so each person has set their own line, quietly - and the careful people are being outpaced by the careless ones.
The risks are specific. Contract terms and commercial figures pasted into consumer tools can leave your control, and confidentiality obligations do not stop applying because the tool was convenient. Output comes back fluent and unverified, and a wrong figure or an invented clause reference goes out under your name, not the tool's. None of that argues for a ban; it argues for rules - because the alternative to rules is not caution, it is improvisation.
